About me

Chan Song Christina An, born into a musical family, began her journey in music at the age of seven. She continued her education in New Zealand, studying under Ashley Brown and James Tenant while actively participating in chamber ensembles at the University of Auckland Chamber program, culminating in several accolades for her group. Chan Song moved to the United States in 2007 and continued to perform and engage in solo, chamber music, and orchestra ensembles. She won concerto competitions at Colburn Preparatory School, Yorba Linda Symphony Orchestra California, and Eastman School of Music, performing with the orchestra.

 

As a notable highlight, her trio, Trio En won the First prize at the 2020 MTNA Chamber Music Performance Competition as well as Silver Medal of the Senior String Division at the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Also, her other chamber group, Favola Quartet won the Grand Prize and First Prize at the 7th Coltman Chamber Music Competition. Trio En also made it to the Semifinal Round of Concert Artist Guild’s Management Competition of 2020.

 

Ms. An studied with Dr. Richard Naill at the Colburn Preparatory School, Steven Doane at Eastman School of Music for her Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Performance Certificate, and Bion Tsang at Butler School of Music where she received her doctorate degree in 2021. Currently, she is cultivating students in OC area in California and actively performing with Diletta Trio as a member. Chan Song has performed in masterclasses for Lynn Harrell, Hans Jorgen Jensen, Clive Greensmith, Mark Kosower, Christopher Adkins, Edward Arron, Zuil Bailey, Peter Schumayer, Miró Quartet, Ying Quartet, among others.
